After the May 9 race for Collin College Board of Trustees, voting resulted in a runoff for Place 7.
In Place 7, incumbent Steve Cone faced three challengers and received 3,176 votes, 19.75 percent of the total cast.
Collin Kennedy received 4,325 votes, or 26.90 percent, Mike Gould received 2,153 votes, or 13.39 percent and Jim Orr received 6,426 votes or 39.96 of the total votes cast.
Orr and Kennedy will face each other in a June 13 runoff.
Early voting will be June 1 through 5 and June 8 and 9.
In the Board of Trustees race for Collin College Place 8, incumbent Bob Collins defeated challenger Ken Roberts. Collins received 9,662 votes, 59.8 percent, compared to Roberts’ 6,473, 40.12 percent.
“I am grateful for the election win and humbled by the support I received from all around the county. This is an exciting time for the college as we address strategies for growth and innovation both academically and programmatically. I’m looking forward to addressing these and working with Dr. Neil Matkin who is beginning his tenure as our president,” Collins said.
Andy Hardin ran unopposed in his reelection bid for Place 9 and received 13,068 votes.
There were 470,039 registered voters eligible to vote in the Collin College trustee election. Voter turnout for both early and Election Day voting was just over 5.1 percent.
