Though Princeton was not directly impacted by the storms and tornadoes Dec. 26, they were quick to aid other communities and to act to protect their citizens.
According to City Manager Derek Borg, emergency management utilized both storm sirens and Code Red to alert Princeton residents about the tornadoes throughout the evening.
The storm sirens on Monte Carlo and by the Princeton High School were activated at 7:03 p.m.
A town-wide blackout also occurred as a result of the storms in neighboring towns with the electricity being restored shortly before midnight.
