Princeton Fire Department recently earned designation as a Texas Commission on Fire Protection Certification Center, allowing the department to conduct with in-house instructors.
Offering instruction to firefighters in-house saves PFD tuition fees for classes and allows the department to training classes to other departments. Fire Chief Tom Harvey reported he already is asking other fire departments what kinds of training would be most beneficial to them.
“It’s a huge step for our department,” Harvey said. “The better we can train our firefighters, and firefighters from other departments, the safer we can make them.”
