The Princeton boys basketball team looked to build momentum as District 6-6A play began this week. The Panthers went 2-2 at last weekend’s Clay Cooley Hoopfest Tournament in Mesquite, highlighted by a 32-point third quarter in a 75-62 win over Richardson Berkner.

And the Panthers did just that.

Princeton went 2-2 at last weekend’s Clay Cooley Hoopfest Tournament in Mesquite.

To begin the week, the Panthers rode a 32-point third quarter to earn an eventual 75-62 road win over Richardson Berkner on Dec. 2.

The Rams raced out to a 20-14 first-quarter lead, but the Panthers were quick to regroup. Princeton outscored Berkner 18-12 in the second quarter to forge a 32-32 halftime tie.

What followed was one of the most impressive quarters of the season for Princeton. The Panthers exploded for 32 points in the third quarter to take the lead for good before going on to win the game by 13 points.

Julius Johnson and Oluwafisayomi Falowo each netted 14 points to pace a balanced offensive attack for Princeton, followed by 12 from DJ McCoy, 11 from Aveion Dixon and nine from Marcus Flowers.
