Fresh off earning its first District 6-6A victory of the season, the Princeton girls basketball team was hopeful that a 57-51 triumph over Plano would serve as the catalyst to turn around their season after the Lady Panthers won just two of their first 11 games.
For just over two quarters of play during Friday night’s road game against another struggling team, McKinney, Princeton showed good signs of life.
Unfortunately for the Lady Panthers, those hopes were dashed by a rough third quarter in which the Lionettes outscored Princeton 16-0 during the final 6:30. McKinney rode the momentum of that extended scoring run to earn a 49-32 win over Princeton.
The loss overshadowed a 20-point performance by Princeton senior Chandler Evans.
