Princeton ISD trustees approved the district’s 2026-27 budget and tax rate Monday, Aug. 17, as administrators reported continued enrollment growth, progress on two elementary school construction projects and improved accountability scores at several campuses.
Enrollment reached 12,338 students Monday, up 380 from the first day of school and 1,137 from the comparable date last year.
Superintendent Don McIntyre said the rapid growth continues to make campus-level enrollment projections challenging. The district is considering hiring an additional demographer to provide another perspective on expected growth. In recent years, he said, Princeton ISD has added enough students annually to fill an entire elementary school.
