Princeton Police Sgt. Mike Rumfield, a U.S. Army veteran who served as an infantryman in the 101st Airborne Division, was the keynote speaker Monday, May 25, at the Memorial Day ceremony sponsored by VFW Bois D’Arc Post 9167 in Princeton Cemetery.
His 26 years of service in law enforcement includes SWAT leadership in Collin County and the Princeton PD.
Rumfield is also co-founder and president of America’s Defenders Foundation, an organization committed to supporting veteran and law enforcement families.
During the ceremony, the Princeton Fire Department lowered the colors to half staff for a Fallen Comrade Ceremony that featured the playing of “Taps.”
Post Commander-Elect Robert Dockery welcomed participants and Preston Callaway of the VFW offered the invocation and delivered the benediction.
