Princeton property taxes are going up, but not by the 10 cents per $100 valuation that staff had proposed.
In a surprise move, Mayor Eugene Escobar Jr. asked the Princeton City Council at a special meeting on Monday, Aug. 17, to withdraw all tax increase items from the agenda except for one raising the debt service rate by three cents.
“I want to do more marketing, put out more information and show the public what they’re going to actually get for this raise,” Escobar said.
