Princeton is preparing to restart work on a citywide stormwater and drainage master plan after public works officials concluded an earlier proposal did not adequately address the city’s rapid growth or long-term drainage needs.
New Public Works Director Rifat Alam updated City Council with a new approach that would examine drainage throughout Princeton, identify and rank needed capital projects and consider stormwater impact fees as a way to help pay for improvements.
“The prior scope and fees did not fully reflect the city’s growth and need,” Alam said during a Sept. 28 work session.
