A new affordable housing option will soon be coming to McKinney courtesy in part to North Collin County Habitat for Humanity.
The 35-unit townhome complex is one of the first of its kind in the United States, which will utilize shipping containers to make a 1,200 sq. ft. townhouse with three bedrooms and two baths.
“We have chosen this model due to the increase in cost and availability of land,” North Collin County Habitat for Humanity Chief Executive Officer Celeste Cox said. “With this townhouse design, we are able to get more units into a smaller piece of land.”
