Led by a talented and experienced class, the Princeton football team produced one of its best seasons in recent memory.

One year after winning two games, the Panthers found themselves on the winning end of close contests more often this season, parlaying that success into a 6-4 record — their highest win total since 2015, when Princeton finished 7-4.

That success did not go unnoticed.

A vote was recently held by the nine head coaches in District 6-6A, and Princeton was rewarded with nine selections to the All-6-6A team, including one superlative winner.

Senior wide receiver Jordan Mosley was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year. Mosley, who also received consideration for district MVP, led the Panthers in receiving yards (937) and receiving touchdowns (12) despite being limited to seven games. The 5-foot-10 senior was a high-volume receiver and standout defensive back for Princeton before suffering a season-ending lower-body injury against Allen on Oct. 10.

Senior quarterback Marcus Flowers, a first-team selection, concluded his standout career as one of the program’s all-time leaders in passing yards. A two-plus-year starter, Flowers amassed 2,593 passing yards and 21 touchdown passes, while adding 310 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns, against just three interceptions.

A major reason Flowers enjoyed ample pass protection was the play of Princeton’s two most experienced offensive linemen, seniors Javian Smith and Lane Martin, both of whom were named to the All-6-6A second team.

Senior wide receiver Collin Fannin-White was also a second-team All-6-6A honoree. Despite suffering an injury against Allen that limited him to eight games, he finished second on the Panthers in receiving yards with 587 and added three receiving touchdowns.

Senior running back Nick Rodriguez, senior linebacker Giovanni Ayala, junior wide receiver Jayden Rogers, senior defensive tackle Tevin Miller and junior defensive tackle Kaidon Williams earned honorable mention recognition.

Rodriguez was a force near the goal line, tallying 318 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns despite being limited to six games because of an upper-body injury.

Rogers showcased his potential as a junior, catching 28 passes for 321 yards with touchdown receptions against McKinney and Prosper.

Ayala excelled as the defensive play-caller and was a reliable tackler, finishing with 69 tackles and one forced fumble.

Miller recorded 29 tackles during the season.

Williams notched a team-high 1.5 sacks to go along with 51 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Prosper senior wide receiver Lathon Latiolais was named the district’s Most Valuable Player. Special Teams Player of the Year went to his teammate, place kicker Michael Bukauskas. Eagle lineman Zaden Krempin was the unanimous selection for Offensive Lineman of the Year.

District champion Allen, which reached its first state semifinal since 2018, claimed six superlative awards.

Allen’s Josh Shaw was the unanimous selection for Defensive Player of the Year, while teammate Lebron Bauer earned Defensive Utility Player of the Year honors. Wide receiver Caleb Smith was named the district’s Multi-Purpose Player of the Year. Dom Butler earned Defensive Newcomer of the Year, and Devin Palmer was named Defensive Lineman of the Year. Allen also received Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

The Offensive Utility Player of the Year award went to Plano West’s Jordan Grant.

Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors were awarded to Plano East running back Treyce Seldon.
