Princeton ISD has hired Denton ISD athletics director Dr. Chivonne Kiser as director of athletics after her hiring was approved by the school district’s Board of Education on Monday.
According to Denton ISD’s official website, Dr. Kiser has served as the student-athletes as assistant athletics director for Denton ISD, a title she has held since joining the district in 2019 from Katy ISD.
Dr. Kiser enjoyed a storied playing career in college as she was a four-year letter winner and team captain for the women’s volleyball team at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2023, she was inducted into the Southern University Sports Hall of Fame.
She began her career in education in 2001 and served 12 years as a head volleyball coach and head girl’s track and field coach for her alma mater, Kempner High School in Fort Bend ISD. Dr. Kiser then moved to become the head volleyball coach and assistant campus athletic coordinator at Morton Ranch High School in Katy ISD.
Dr. Kiser holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Southern University, a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from the University of Florida and a Doctorate in General Education from Northcentral University. With her husband, Dr. Charles Kiser, also an educator working for Denton ISD, they have three children, two of whom attend Denton ISD and one who is a collegiate athlete.
Dr. Kiser will take over for Stacey Dillard, who is retiring at the end of the school year. Dillard spent the past 18 years working for Princeton ISD and has served as the director of athletics since 2013.
