Three school records were broken by the Princeton track and field team at last Saturday’s Plano ISD Ron McNeill Invitational at Tom Kimbrough Stadium, two by junior Sydney Smith. Smith became the new record holder in the girls 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.8 and in the girls long jump with a distance of 19-11.25. She placed first in both events.
The team of Keddy Nworka, Jayden Bissonnette, Collin Fannin-White and Aiden Rutledge broke the 4×100 school record with a time of 42.13. They placed second.
Rutledge added a third-place finish in the high jump with a height of 6-2 and took fourth in the 400-meter dash in 50.88, while Bissonnette ran to fifth place in the 100 with a 10.86.
Princeton’s 4×400 ran to gold in 3:23.89, edging second-place finisher Plano (3:23.95) in a photo finish.
Senior Will Smith earned bronze-medal finishes in the 400 (50.87) and 800 (2:00.56). Sophomore Mason Williams captured fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (41.69). Junior Jeremy Oseh captured seventh place in the 110-meter hurdles (15.8).
On the girls side, Princeton had two runners place in the top four in the 100-meter hurdles. In addition to Smith’s first-place finish, junior Aaliyah Crisp ran to a personal record of 14.27, good for fourth place.
Junior Xaquioa Riddley earned sixth place in the 100 with a time of 12.3, while junior Marian Valdez was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:26.99.
The Lady Panthers fared well in the relays, with their 4×200 placing second in 1:41.1 and their 4×100 earning bronze in 47.06.
