Becky Morrow, left, and Cordie Everman, owner of American Past Tents share their story and their wares made from Vietnam era tents recently at the Princeton Fall Festival.
It started with a simple tent, one that carried a message back home. A soldier in a strange land writing a message in his tent to, hopefully, be conveyed to a loved one.
Soldier after soldier wrote these notes while overseas, in Vietnam especially, in hopes that someone would see them, to ease their pain and to escape through these writings.
Little did they know that more than 50 years later McKinney resident and veteran supporter Cordie Everman would be discovering these messages and repurposing the tents for a cause all of her own.
