“The Cover of Life” is an adaptation from a book written by R.T. Robinson and is based in September 1943 in Sterlington, La., about a family of women waiting for their husbands to return from World War II.
A reporter from Life Magazine is assigned to write a cover story on the family, Aunt Ola the matriarch and her three daughters-in-law, Tood, Sybil and Weetsie. What the reporter, Kate, found was that things were far from serene in the Louisiana family.
