A Princeton resident and part-time race truck driver, Rick Purcella, achieved his goal last month by completing the Baja 1000 off-road race on the Baja Peninsula in Mexico.

“My body is beat to crap,” he declared of his achievement.

Purcella competed in the 866-mile race Nov. 17-20 as a member of the VORE Race Team out of Las Vegas, Nev. He was driving a modified Ford F150 Raptor truck in the Sport Unlimited Truck Class.
