Princeton senior Samantha Valdez capped her season with a strong performance at the Region I-6A meet Monday morning at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock.
Making her first regional appearance, Valdez finished 77th with a time of 20:04.5.
The performance marked a significant turnaround for Valdez after an injury slowed her during her junior season.
She had placed eighth at the District 6-6A meet with a time of 20:12 before shaving approximately eight seconds off that mark at regionals.
