An application to rezone a 1-acre tract along Longneck Road was withdrawn after City Council members raised concerns about flood-plain impacts and the validity of notarized documents submitted with the application.
The request sought to rezone the property from Single-Family Residential Estate to Planned Development 46, a commercial classification that would have allowed construction of a 5,000-square-foot office building marketed primarily as a State Farm insurance office. It would also have included space for additional tenants.
Princeton city staff had recommended approval, and the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 3-1 in December to support the change.
Before the City Council’s public hearing Monday, Jan. 12, Shai Roos, the city’s director of development services, outlined the proposal and its surroundings, noting that commercial zoning already existed on three corners near the intersection of Longneck Road and Monte Carlo Boulevard.
