Public hearing for apartment project

by | Jan 8, 2026 | Latest, News

The owners of the Ironwood at Princeton apartment complex, formerly known as the Princeton Luxury Apartments, are seeking amendments to the Planned Development (PD) governing the long-delayed multifamily project, with the City Council to hold a public hearing Monday, Jan. 12.

The zoning amendment application was filed by Blóm Capital, which acquired the roughly 15.4-acre property at 599 W. Princeton Drive late in 2024 after years of stalled construction and code enforcement issues. The site sits along U.S. Highway 380 just east of Walmart.

According to a Planning and Zoning staff report, the owners asked the city to amend PD to allow changes aimed at simplifying construction and reducing long-term maintenance concerns while still delivering what they describe as a luxury-style apartment community.

The proposed amendments included replacing 97 individual garages with 69 carports, allowing plank, board or panels of cementitious siding to qualify as masonry, eliminating planned dog wash and car wash amenities – but maintaining a large swimming pool — and removing the requirement for a staffed entry gate.
