Princeton has been without a city manager for three months, but officials are not saying much about the search for a new manager.
“I don’t have info on this topic,” Director of Marketing & Communications Erin Mudie said on Thursday, March 12. “I’ll see what I can find out.”
No information was available by press time Tuesday, March 17.
Mayor Eugene Escobar Jr. has said he was pleased with the performance of Alternate City Manager Jeff Jones, hired following the December resignation of City Manager Mike Mashburn. Jones was previously the city manager of Southlake.
Mashburn was hired in January 2024 after longtime manager Derek Borg resigned abruptly in October 2023.
Mashburn’s contract provided him a base salary of $275,000 per year and a car allowance of $800 per month since he lived outside the city.
