Residents living outside the city limits will continue to be served by the Princeton Fire Department until further notice. Collin County voters on Nov. 4 approved creation of an emergency services district (ESD) that will have the authority to levy a property tax to pay for fire service.
The city announced earlier this year that it would terminate its fire service agreement with the county, but the Princeton City Council agreed Monday, Nov. 10, to continue municipal fire service until the ESD was set up.
The Oct. 27 council meeting was canceled for lack of a quorum, so councilmembers were faced with a 12-page agenda.
