Gift distributions have begun in the renamed Princeton Gives program, but more than 500 children have yet to be adopted.
There are 1,279 children from 422 families approved for assistance through the program formerly known as Angel Tree.
Of those, 768 have been adopted and 511 remained available for adoption as of Monday, Dec. 1, officials said.
Originally developed to assist the less fortunate students in Princeton ISD during Christmas, the program is now in its 18th year.
For the past 17 years, Lions Club has been able to assist every eligible applicant. For 2024, 866 children from 306 Princeton families were adopted through the program.
The No. 1 goal is to make sure every child is adopted — but the deadline to drop off new, unwrapped gifts at the Princeton ISD Administration Building, 804 Mable Avenue, is Friday, Dec. 5.
Monetary donations of $75 per child can be made online, using a credit or debit card through the secure payment portal: www.vancoevents.com/us/DJCS.
