Garland ISD didn’t have to look far for the new assistant principal of Hudson Middle School.
Mark Booker, a 9-year employee in the district, was the top candidate for the job, with five years at Sellers Middle School and four years at Schrade Middle School teaching math.
“I am bringing to this position my passion for helping students meet their potential,” he said. “And my ability in helping rally people around a common cause.”
Booker said his goal is to be a servant to the community and to use his skills in helping students become productive members of society.
“Although I have no children, I do have a four-year-old niece who is starting school in Garland ISD this year,” he said. “Her entrance to academics gives me even more fuel to help create the best district possible.”
Booker received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Prairie View A&M and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University. He is currently working on his educational leadership doctorate.
Booker lives in Plano.
