Council adopts wastewater averaging for city residents

by | Jan 15, 2026 | Latest, News

Sewer bills for residents within the city limits will now be calculated on the amount of water they use from December through February. After months of discussion, and $1 million in refunds, the Princeton City Council voted Monday, Jan. 12, to restore Winter Quarter Averaging.

The change does not apply to commercial customers or those living outside the city limits.

Council was prepared to consider a zoning amendment for the Ironwood at Princeton apartments next to Walmart on U.S. Highway 380, but the developer requested more time to submit additional information.

Blóm Capital had requested changes to allow the use of cementitious siding as a masonry product and carports for residents instead of garages. Other changes would remove plans for a manned entry gate and separate washing facilities for cars and dogs.
