Work to begin at Princeton Town Center

by | Jul 7, 2026 | Area News, Latest

Groundbreaking is expected next week on the first store in Princeton Town Center, a 66-acre retail complex on the northwest corner of Beauchamp Boulevard and U.S. Highway 380.

“All their infrastructure has been approved,” Shai Roos, director of development services, said at the Monday, July 6, meeting of the Princeton Planning & Zoning Commission. “We do have a groundbreaking for Kroger’s on the 15th of July,” she said.

Roos added that there would not be any vertical construction done, just groundwork prior to paving. She also said a final plat would be submitted later this month before a building permit is granted.

“Once the ground breaks, it still takes two years before you can shop in a store,” Roos stressed. “It will be December 2027 by the time the stores will be open.”

She said Kroger Marketplace and Home Depot are two of the anchor tenants for the Seitz Group development that will include big box retail stores, an assortment of smaller retail, specialty and service businesses and several restaurants.

Texas Roadhouse, PetSmart and Murphy USA are among other outlets with applications pending before the city.

Construction has been delayed for several years since the project was first announced and a preliminary plat approved by council in August 2024.

“A lot has changed on that lot, and the easements have moved around from their preliminary plat ’til now,” Roos said.
