Jaisen Rutledge has taken his seat on the Princeton City Council after councilmembers canvassed votes in the June 13 runoff between Rutledge and Jan Goria, the two candidates with the most votes in the four-person May 2 election for Place 4.
In other business at the Tuesday, June 23, meeting, councilmembers approved city staff recommendations to close Fire Station No. 4, hire an executive search firm to find a permanent city manager, consider zoning ordinances to restrict data centers within the city limits, explore new ways to fund public safety requirements and solicit proposals to renovate the library with the $1 million bond approved by voters in 2023.
Council also received a presentation by the developer of the Harvest Point subdivision on the east side of the city to create extensive recreational options in Twin Groves Park along Lake Lavon.
