The city of Princeton has hired an interim lawyer following the resignation of City Attorney Grant Lowry, an associate with Boyle & Lowry L.L.P., of Irving.
Following the first of two executive sessions at the Monday, April 13, meeting, the Princeton City Council authorized Mayor Eugene Escobar Jr. to enter into a professional agreement with Kevin B. Laughlin, a partner with the Nichols, Jackson law firm of Dallas.
Lowry had resigned, effective immediately, in an April 2 letter to Escobar.
“It has been our pleasure to represent the city of Princeton, Texas, as its City Attorney,” Lowry wrote. “We have enjoyed assisting with the city’s immense growth, development and maturity.”
