Councilmembers will consider whether the Princeton Police Department should have a dedicated traffic enforcement unit.
“Their only job would be to enforce traffic laws and write citations and tickets,” said resident Michael Knipp, who proposed the idea at the Monday, April 13, council meeting.
“Traffic is a major workload for the police department,” Knipp said. “Enforcement is reactive and not proactive, and city growth is outpacing staffing.”
