Have you ever wondered what teachers do during the summer?
Many people focus on how students spend their break, forgetting perhaps the most important figures in the school district – teachers. Teachers, though, are just as affected when school is no longer in session.
Summer presents an opportunity to learn and grow. Pre-K teacher Michaela Ackerman of Godwin Elementary has conferences planned throughout the summer. For her, conferences are encouraging reminders of why she does what she does. They also motivate her to continue planning lessons year-round, and allow her time to contemplate what she wants to improve.
