Bruce Vance Westerman

by | Nov 11, 2025 | Obituaries

Bruce Vance Westerman, 68, of Princeton, Texas, passed away in the early morning hours of October 28, 2025, at Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano.

He is survived by his daughters, Audrey Paul (partner Paul Slover) and Kassy Westerman (partner Jory Debus IV); his sons, Trevor Westerman and Josh Klein (wife Meiling); and his grandchildren, Dylan and Evie Klein, and Connor Paul. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Peterson and her husband Dwayne, and his brother, Blake Westerman.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Nell Westerman; his brother, Wayne Westerman; and his beloved wife, Gayle Westerman.

Bruce lived a life full of distinction. He was an accomplished Boy Scout and later served in the United States Marine Corps. A well-respected professional, he began his career at E-Systems, which later became Raytheon, and eventually L3 Communications. He also spent time working for Ozark Aircraft Systems in Northwest Arkansas. Throughout his career in aerospace engineering, Bruce was known for his intelligence, dedication, and humility.

In his retirement years, Bruce rekindled his passion for motorcycles and embraced the camaraderie of the riding community. On August 20, 2017, he was inducted into the Helltrain MC and designated as the club’s Chaplain, proudly donning his handle, “Chappy.”

He will be remembered by more friends than can be counted, along with the brothers and sisters of the Helltrain MC, where he served with pride and heart. So many people were touched by his presence—his counsel, his support, his humor—and most of all, his love.

Bruce’s legacy is one of kindness, loyalty, and unwavering compassion. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, his friends, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

A memorial service is currently being planned and details will be announced at a later date.

The family welcomes messages of remembrance and connection during this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toys for Tots—a cause close to Bruce’s heart—or to a local humane society or animal shelter, in honor of his lifelong love for animals and generosity toward others.
